Project 365: Week 43

October 19
This picture is scary. We had dinner at Mario and Tera's tonight. It was so fun, and I forgot to take a picture! I remembered as we were backing out of the driveway. Mario waved at us and I hurried and took a picture from the car. So dumb, and kinda stalkerish.October 20
It rained today, a lot. This is what I saw when I walked out of work. Way better in real life, but still beautiful.October 21
Wednesday is my usual day off. I did some cleaning, organizing, and reorganizing today. When I moved into this apartment I thought there was really only one way to set up this room, now this is the 4th way I've arranged it, and I think it's my new favorite.October 22
My doctor called me at work today to give me results from some blood work. Her exact words were, "You should feel horrifically horrible constantly and want to be asleep all the time." MY first thought: Can I get a Dr's note for that? I'm anemic and my iron levels are "through the floor." I've been anemic for like 6 years, but apparently is worse than ever right now. More meds, more shots, blah blah. So this is me sleeping in honor of what my doctor told me. I do feel tired and not great a lot, I guess I've just gotten used to it.October 23
My boss is turning 60 on sunday. We celebrated today by having lunch and all wearing black.October 24
Check out what I bought at Bed Bath and Beyond! So our living/dining room has no regular lighting. Just table lamps and hanging lamps. Some of the outlets are really hard to get to. So this little cool tool is a remote for outlets. It was in the Christmas section for tree lights, but I bought it and hooked it up to a couple lamps, now we can turn our lights on with the push of a button on this cute little remote! Love it. One remote works on 3 outlets.October 25
Paul was on call this weekend and he's been at work ALL WEEKEND. It's almost mid-night and he's still at work. So, I've been doing crafts! I've decided to have a girls day at my house next month for anyone who wants to make Christmas crafts! These are some samples I made today. I'll send out emails with better pictures and prices of each one for anyone interested. Then we'll just hang out at my apartment all day and be creative! Everyone can use all my supplies and I'll teach anyone who doesn't feel crafty. And I'll make lunch and have a lot of snacks for the whole day. Sounds fun, right?!

Project 365: Week 42

October 12
My cousin James and his wife are joining the peace corps. They leave in a couple days and my aunt had a little last minute party for them tonight. Here they are with my grandparents.October 13
I love the fall leaves. This is the tree outside our apartment. I'm sad that it's getting cold so fast and the colors aren't going to last.October 14
I made Paul take me to the mountains tonight to see more leaves. BEAUTIFUL!! This picture does no justice.October 15
Paul made dinner tonight because I had a late night. He did a good job! ...I'm not sure what this is, but it was good!October 16
I bought this star at work. I love it. I think it's my inspiration for my new kitchen. This star, some yellow, wine red, and avocado.October 17
Mom had a concert tonight. You're not suppose to take pictures, so that's why this is bad. I had to turn off the flash and sneak it! Mom did great, as usual.October 18
We had our monthly family meeting at my parents tonight. I pretty much took pictures all the way home while I was shaking my camera. I got some cool ones.

There's gotta be a faster way to travel than in a car.

Paul and I go to California a lot. About once a month for the past 16 months. We usually fly, but once in a while we drive and every time we drive we remind ourselves that we're never going to drive there again. But we probably will.
Robyn and Dave got married last weekend. It was a great wedding. We're so happy for these 2 hot babes.
These are some of my favorite things from this short trip.

1. Getting a massage from the lady who massages my mother in law regularly. She came to the house and did it there. Heaven. My MIL (mother in law) has arranged this the past 2 times we've gone and I'm getting use to it. Yes, heaven.

2. Beautiful weather.

3. The apartment renovations coming along. It's not looking like a home yet, but a lot has changed and its exciting.
4. El Pollo Loco.

5. Robyn and Dave looking so cute and happy.
6. The icy fruity desert cup goodness at the reception.

7. Seeing all the BIOLA babes.
8. Ice from It's a Grind.

9. Being with our CA family.

10. Being able to meet up with Sode and Heidi on our way out of town. They are getting married at a winery in SoCal on May 1st. Can't wait! So happy for them!

multi-tasking

This post could have been titled a couple of different things that would have been applicable.

Like: Men, Mars/Women, Venus. or,
Do we have to talk about this now?? or,
Women want to understand men and men have given up on understanding women.

Anyway, just FYI, this post might be TMI. But I'll keep it clean.

Last night as Paul and I were laying in bed. (He'd been there for a few minutes and I'd just come to bed.) I was freezing and he cuddled up to me. Then...ya know...he started to...ya know...

And I started to...ya know... No, I don't think you do know. I started to tell him that I was gonna do laundry in the morning so anything not in the basket that he needed washed needed to be added in the morning, and that I wanted to get up early so who's gonna shower first, I told him my doctor appointment was at 9, I asked when he was getting up... He finally stopped and said, "Do we have to talk about this stuff right now?!"

I started to laugh, and he started to laugh. Men and women are so different! I apologized, and...ya know...but then, I don't know what was wrong with me, I just blurted out, "Well, I think we're both tired and its late but this is all stuff that I have to tell you at some point before we go to sleep so we may as well kill two birds with one stone!"

Everything probably would have taken less time if I'd just kept my mouth shut and enjoyed, but needless to say, everything eventually got said AND done before we went to sleep.

Marriage is great.

We love each other so much and have so much fun everyday.

But we're glad we have the rest of our lives to figure all this male/female, sex/talking, patience, communication, love stuff out.

I'll probably have to apologize for this post later, but for now, sorry babe. Love you!

Project 365: Week 41

October 5
I finally got my welcome stand. Oh, that black thing is a welcome stand. I ordered it at swiss days and it finally got delivered. I played phone tag with the lady who makes them for like a week and then on delivery day it was obvious that the lady had a lot to deliver because no matter how short of an amount went between our conversations about scheduling and meeting (sometimes 10 minutes.) she NEVER knew who I was. Oh well, thanks to my mom for finally meeting up with her, I got it. I made the pumpkins on top. I like it.October 6
Some people (my mom) say my Christmas tree in real life and told me it looks smaller in real life. So here it is with a nickle. I'm a little worried about how quickly Christmas is coming.October 7
Heading to California tomorrow. Tonight we loaded up a bed we're giving my in-laws and some exercise equipment that we're adding to my father-in-laws gym.October 8
We both worked today and THEN headed to California. It was a LOOOONG drive. We got to CA at about 1:30 am.October 9
Construction is in full swing. This is above the mortuary, and someday that will be my living room.October 10
Robyn and Dave got married today! So happy for these two!! Congrats Mr. and Mrs. DC3.October 11
I knew I guy once who had a picture of himself online standing in front of this sign. I wondered for so long where it was, now I've driven past it like a million times.

Project 365: Week 40

September 28
Our neighbors upstairs brought us these pumpkin cinnamon rolls tonight. I'm not a fan a pumpkin, but I just took a bite and it was so good. Maybe it's because I haven't eaten candy all month and the sweet tasted good.September 29
I bought a new garbage can today. Our kitchen one was way too small and I was sick of it. I think Paul was surprised at my choice, but I think it's cool.September 30
I made cookies tonight for Paul and I to take to our offices tomorrow. I missed work last week to be at the doc with him and his missed work today to take me to the doc. This was my way of saying sorry to our jobs. Oh, and me at the doc? Yeah, lump in the right boob. 2cm's big at 10 o'clock. (Picture the boob as a clock. Doc's words, not mine.) It was scarier than I'm making it sound right now, but my doc had an ultra sound done. Looks "normal"...whatever normal boob lumps look like. 2 more visits in the next 6 weeks, but they think I'm fine. So yeah, cookies.October 1
Thursday nights have become house cleaning nights for us. I told Paul he was in charge of the picture for today. This is what he came up with.October 2
Date Night! Because of being out of town and hospital visits we didn't have date night for 2 weeks. We went to Bahamian Brewery (Thanks Melly and Justin for the gift card.) It was SO GOOD! Then we went to see Love Happens. It was pretty cute. Plus Jennifer Aniston is my girl crush.October 3
Paul went with the boys in my fam to Priesthood tonight. So my mom and I did crafts (surprise) and went out to dinner. I love time with my mom. And forgot to pull out the camera when I was with her. So, this is what I made.October 4
Have I mentioned that Paul and I are students of Financial Peace University? We are. Becoming millionaires one dollar at a time. We're doing baby steps and budgeting and planning and saving and debt snowballing and emergency funding, and... ok, so I don't really know what we are doing because you learn very early on in the classes that in a marriage there is a nerd and a free spirit. The nerd saves receipts, saves statements, saves check stubs, saves money, etc. The free spirit, shops, spends, doesn't plan ahead, and doesn't pay much attention in class. Hey, somebody's gotta do it. I am proud to say though, that I got all out of debt besides my car before we got married. Go me. This is Paul working on our budget, I wasn't really involved in this project. There is word around our apartment that we have a budget meeting coming up. I know I get blow money every month, that's all I can confirm at this time.
